About Me

I was born in 1967 in Ann Arbor Michigan. I lived in Michigan until my family moved in 1977 to Newtown Square PA. My childhood, especially in Michigan was full of what every boy could hope for. Exploration, plenty of hockey, swimming and diving. Skulduggery. I attended High School for three years at Great Valley High School and then transferred my last year to Archbishop Carrol High School where I graduated (barely) in 1986.

After floundering as a cook in a local seafood restaurant for about two years, I joined the U.S. Coast Guard in early 1988. I subsequently spent 20 years in the Coast Guard retiring in February of 2008. I was released from active duty in September of 2007 and immediately began a sailing adventure.

I left Newport Rhode Island in September of 2007 aboard Christa, my Westsail32 bound for the worlds oceans. I spent the months of September-December 2007 sailing down the US East Coast. In December of 2007 I sailed east across the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas. February 2008 found me in Luperon Dominican Republic. I spent the 2008/09 hurricane season in Salinas Puerto Rico. In October 08 I started my move down island by sailing to the Virgin Islands and continuing on. In June of 2009 I dropped the hook in St Georges Grenada. I hauled Christa out in St Davids Grenada for the last hurricane season. I've spent the summer 2009 back in the United States, bumping around friends and families homes. October 2009 will find me back in Grenada, prepping Christa for a sail back to the states. I plan on spending most of the winter in Naples Florida. In June of 2010 I trucked Christa across the country to the San Francisco Bay Area where I'm attending the Dominican University of California in San Rafael.

I hope to finish my Bachelors in May of 2012, and either enter Graduate School or float my resume and pick up a job. Not sure where sailing will fit into my future, but it certainly will. Welcome aboard!
